Well, they had an amazing season, from the 0-8 start to the walk off home run by Longo. Our team was counted out from the get go and the Red Sox were touted as favorites to win the division, and look what happened. We can’t be upset about this, they did their best, and this is where this chapter of the story ends. We had the odds stacked against us the entire season, even to the last month, the odds 1 and 250+ million that we would even make it to the playoffs. I’ll admit it, Texas did a good job, but they didn’t do it alone. That was some of the worst officiating I have ever seen in the 17 years I’ve been watching baseball. MLB should be ashamed of this, yesterdays game was practically handed to the Rangers and they could hardly win that.

We got to see the Legend of Sam Fuld, the amazing Matt Moore, James Shields 11 complete games, Price’s 14 strike out game, Davis and Niemann give us the nail bitters, Hellboy pitch his way into the rookie of the year, Longo and BJ come back hot as hell, Zobrist have a 10 rbi day, Jennings out homer and out steal Crawford in just a month and a half, Damon bring us back from the brink with his walk off home runs, and Dan the man show us why a guy that hits .108 should be feared, Maddon’s masterful workings, Longo bring in Jennings for our 1000th win and Joel and Kyle shut down in the late innings. All of this because we and our beloved team believed in them.

The thing that we have to remember is, this season wasn’t supposed to be ours. This season was supposed to be a “rebuilding” season…but next year, that was a whole different story if you remember spring training. Look who we have a FULL SEASON OF BASEBALL WITH! Jennings, Moore, Cobb, McGee, Gomes, Guyer, Ruggiano, Torres, Lobaton, Churinos, Archer just to name a few. We will be seeing these names all over the place this spring.

Those are the reasons that next year was supposed to be our year. Let’s see how they react when the Rays are prepared.

I’ll do some post season stuff, projections on who I think will be staying and going during the week.

This summer has been the best in my life. Countless adventures and great friends. I can say without a doubt that this is the year I really fell in love with the Rays. Sure, they’ve been my AL team for years, but this year I vowed to follow them the way I do the Cubs, and I have no regrets.

I’m not going to lie, I’m terrified on what the off season will bring for the Rays. I’m so worried that Shieldsy won’t be back, especially since Matt Moore should without a doubt find a spot on the team, but who knows.

I’ve gained a lot of respect for the Rays fans.

protecther:

They’re being good sports about the game today.
But they sure didn’t make it easy for us! Haha.
I told myself before the post-season that if the Rangers couldn’t make the ALCS, I’d want the Rays to win because they really do deserve to be in the series.
Good luck next year, Rays.
We’ll be sure to beat the Yankees for you again if they make it. ;)
